An alumna of the prestigious S.N. Medical College, Agra and KGMU, Lucknow , Prof Semwal has been associated with the department since 2001. Currently heading the department, she has been a vocal advocate against substance abuse in adolescents.
Her special interests include Epidemiology, Reproductive and child health, Nutrition,NCDs. With nearly 21 years of post graduate teaching experience and 19 years of research experience and more than 40 publications in state, national and international journals, Prof Semwal is the guiding force behind this project.

An expert reviewer and editor of various journals and a highly sought-after resource person, Prof A K Srivastava, an SCBMC,Cuttak alumnus has been associated with the institute for nearly 2 decades. His special interests are non-communicable diseases including substance abuse and epidemiology.
With nearly more than 25 papers under his belt, he has been guiding young public health professionals and community members alike for the past 21 years.
Prof Srivastava has been instrumental in designing the project and is closely associated with the key stakeholders in the community as well as the beneficiaries of the project.

Dr Deepshikha has 8 years of teaching experience since her specialisation in Community Medicine from HIMS,SRHU and has published more than 25 papers.
Her special interests include Non Communicable Disease (CVD, Diabetes, Hypertension, Stroke, RTA, Mental health), Geriatrics, Artificial Intelligence, Adolescent Health, Tuberculosis.
An empathetic heart and an energetic mind, Dr Deep Shikha has led the collective labour to fruition in the form of this project. She has been closely associated with the frontline healthcare providers (ASHAs and ANMs) in Doiwala Block providing them necessary skills via workshops to combat this medusa of substance abuse. She has interviewed and counselled young adults and adolescents, and thus has given us a good insight into the “why’s” of the substance abuse menace.

A young public health professional, Dr Vidisha Vallabh is an alumnus of SGRRIMHS, Dehradun. She gained her MD in Community Medicine from the prestigious Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, SRH University, Dehradun, India in 2017. She has varied interests but has worked more for the marginalised population focussing on gender equality and gender-based violence, ergonomics, infectious diseases, and quality management. Her current projects include substance abuse in youth and precocious puberty.
With her keen interest in IEC and technology, she has been designing and providing critical resource material that is crucial to the development and success of this project.
Qualification: M. Sc (Statistics)
A young and upcoming statistician, Ms Uniyal is a Dr. Rajeev Jain Memorial Scholarship-holder and Alumnus of D.A.V. (PG) College, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Her research interests include Applied Statistics and Statistical Inference.
